Critical thots

“While all engineers should have good communication skills, global engineers face additional challenges, making effective communication an imperative.” Debra Kraft, Careers Content Writer, Demand Media (2016)

Engineers from across the globe tend to have the most unique communication barriers, such as language and cultural differences as well as varying communication styles. These aspects often result in misinterpretation and misunderstandings of the said projects, especially when teams of different backgrounds are involved in the project. One must be able to have a flexible approach to working in such multi-faceted environments. Engineers, for example, need to learn how to listen, feel, and speak out to the required audiences in order to make the cooperation and the project more successful and effective.

  3. I agree with your point on misunderstandings in projects and in the workspace! It can be a very toxic environment to work in when employees or colleagues feel uncomfortable to voice out on their concerns.
